Not to worry, if it is not over 2.4 to one or so it will do just fine. Any quality transmitter will shut it self down as swr rises. The old tube sets were sensitive to swr, but as long as you get out it is transmitting ok. The higher the swr the higher the meter will deflect. Remember, a properly tuned 1/4 wave fed with a standard coax will have a 2.1 to 1 swr. The proper length or resonent frequency is more important than swr.

Anyone who's running a Wilson antenna - is the 5000 worth the extra cost over the 1000?? <br><br>Also, anybody running a Cobra 75 WX-ST? If yes, how do you like it?

Thanks RadioRex,<br><br>That's kinda what I thought - that the 5000 might be overkill and really not worth the extra $ for the average user.

Wilson 1k is my favorite , so far.<br><br>Had the K-40, and had poor reception, more static.<br><br>That's just my opinion, for whatever that means.<br><br>
