Brakes not releasing on my trailer
Wierd thing is happening, and this happens on both my truck and my brothers 98 12V.
When you take your foot off the brake, there is a slight delay in the deactivation of the trailer brakes. I also noticed the 3rd brake light on my headache rack stays lit for about a second after I pull my foot off the pedal.
Is this a normal condition? It makes my trailer VERY jerky and with the bigger trailer, I have turned up the boost on the controller.

Trailer brakes
You didn't say what kind of trailer you were pulling, and what kind of brake controler you are using. My first fiver and my second one both had electric shorts in the axle tubes. Both fiver's made by Forest River. What they used was electric lamp cord inside the axles. Where the crown is in the axle is where the cheap wire wore thru and caused the shorts. I had to fix this problem on both fivers. Don't know about the new one I got, cause it's got a under belly cover on it. Time will tell. Also you didn't say if you are blowing out fuses.

Everything wired properly?
One of my Draftsman had a dakota that would supply power to his trailer brakes as soon as the plug was connected. Someone wired the battery charge and brake wires backwards. He never admited to doing tho.
You might have a poor ground and the brake lights are feeding the brake coils. (im not sure, just drawing straws)

everything is wired properly and it has done it on both my new trailer a 2005 Keystone Sprinter and my old 95 Jayco. It does this on both my brothers and my trucks. It just seems like there is a slight delay to the brakes releasing. Like I said, the brake light that shines on my headache rack stays on very briefly after I release the brakes too.
I guess I am more asking if this is more a Dodge thing or if it is abnormal

You are using an enertia or timer type of controller that is controlled by the brake lights. Yes this is normal. The brake lights hand for a split second before shutting off. No cure except to get a brakesmart of jordan.

OK, thats what i thought, but just wanted to check. Doesn't the brakesmart work off the brake light too?? I was pretty sure the jordan goes off the pedal, maybe I am wrong.
BTW, I have a Tekonsha Prodigy controller. I was gonna say that in the earlier post but I forgot
