Brake Controller Mounting

Brake Controller Mounting
Looking for creative mounting options, as my wife's short legs won't allow me to mount my Odyssey in the area under the steering wheel. Seems like the unit is too big to mount on the drink holder and have it in the up position. Buying an overhead tray to mount it on wouldn't allow a view of the controller screen. In the armrest is dangerously inconvienent. In the shelf above the blower controls seems the best option if I can adequately secure it and keep it from rattling, but I don't know how difficult it is to get to the tray bottom to cut the hole for the harness. Any ideas or advice?

Welcome to the site fellow Virginian!
A little information on your truck will help folks give you suggestions.
Click on User CP just above your post in the blue header bar and that will take you to your User Control Panel page.
On the left, click on Edit Signature and this will take you to a page where you can list the information about your truck which will show up at the bottom of your post like the signature does on mine.

Next to the drivers A-pillar using velcro
I mounted my prodigy using heavy duty self stick black Velcro next to the a-pillar. I first bolted the unit in the u-shaped bracket using the upper most hole on the left side and the bottom most hole on the right side. I then cut a strip of velcro to stick to the bottom of the "U". I then positioned it on the curve next to the a pillar so that the front was level and then marked the position with a pencil. I cut a smaller square of Velcro to put on the very back edge of the Prodigy where it contacted the dash I then peeled off the sticky backing, carefully lined up with my marks and then pressed down firmly. I have a about four inch of wire harness that stick out of the a-pillar the erst is behind the panel on the drivers side of the console. This was originally meant to be a temporary setup but has lasted over 12,000 miles and through 90 degree plus days here in south Texas. Plus when I am not using the controller. I carefully separate the Velcro and store the unit in the armrest. I Will try to post some pics tomorrow.

Bren,
By center stack, do you mean the floor mounted console? My truck has no console, only a flip down center panel with cupholders. Can't see a way to mount there, as there is no room to flip back up.

I sure hate giving Fords an "attaboy" but they come with it installed, pre-wired auxiliary switches as well.
The sign on my tailgate says Heavy Duty..
Q- what do people do with HD trucks? A- We pull trailers.
Why don't Dodge get on the band wagon??
T-connectors to the main harness in front of the rear wheel for the in bed harness's (save that extra 20 ft of wire between the bumper and bed ) prodigy controllers in the dash, and cross rails in the frame ready for a B&W turn over ball...
The cost of this at a factory level would be cheap..

Finally rembered to post my pics
As I mentioned before his was originally meant to be a temporary setup but has lasted over 12,000 miles, including a trip to Ohio and back and several local tows, and through 90 degree plus days here in south Texas. Plus when I am not using the controller. I carefully separate the Velcro and store the unit in the armrest.
