Best Gooseneck Hitch

Just purchased truck in sig, looking for advise on a gooseneck hitch.

I have had two Fords (sorry guys but hopefully I have seen the light)previously and installed B&W Hitches in both. I was totally satisfied with the B&W and will most likely purchase for this truck as well but thought I would seek advise here first!!!

Where is the best place to purchase a B&W these days?

I purchase mine through a trailer dealer as we have a discount there. Best bet would probably be Ebay or even try etrailer.com

I love mine!

Drawtite offers a bolt in hitch w/ removable ball. There is a plate about 12inches x 14inches in the bed. Heat treated stainless ball. Hitch and ball GPW of 30000 lbs. I have this in my o1. Works well but the plate is inconveniet now and then.

B&W is hard to beat... I had mine installed at a local Truck&Welding shop for $400 and some change. If you want to install on your own, check out Tweetys.com or there are plenty of other online stores who have decent prices and free shipping.

I have the Draw Tite one. It works wll, I'm perfectly happy with it.

Next time Though, I think I will try the B&W just so I COULD get a 5'ver hitch if I wanted too. I don't think Draw Tite offers that.

The removable bal part is of little vale o me, I have seldom taken the ball out of my Draw Tite.

Gooseneck hitch

Don't over look Curt Manf. hitch! Had Two of them one with 1 rod, and 1 with the two rods, one for popping it up, and the other rod to lock it in place w/o getting into the bed. Great hitch! Installed both myself. I have on present Quadcab swb, pulls my gooseneck trailer (8 x 16) no problems. Pulls as though it's not even back there! just my .02 worth.

I have a B&W in mine also. I really like how easy you can switch it around.

B&W, I had one in my ford and one in this truck and I agree they are hard to beat.

I think the cheapest I could find mine (about a year ago) was 345 shipped off ebay, I put it in myself.

The one in my 01 ford cost me 500 intalled with a brake controller and he wired it for me, it was a local guy.

Another vote for B&W. Paid about $365 drop shipped from a trailer dealer around Abilene Texas. Was down there visiting friends and thought it was a good price. Easy to install too.

B&W all the way. I have a Putnam Lock & Load, long story short the ball turned with the trailer which pushed the locking rod out which made the ball and trailer fall on the bed floor. The socket for the gooseneck ball is round on the Putnam. The B&W is square so this can't happen with it.

Anyone want to buy a slightly used Putnam for a 3rd gen?
