for those of you with a drop in liner, did yall leave it in for the installation, specifically the drilling the 4" hole? Im ordering mine tomorrow and am worried that I wont get the hole in the exact correct spot, then have to grind or something to get the hole in the right spot. I also dont want to remove the liner then have to put it back in, do I need to not be lazy and pull it out to avoid getting the hole in the wrong spot? thanks

I removed mine. It only takes a couple minutes to pull it out.

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a B&W RV Post (the piece that connects the Companion to the Turnoverball hitch) and draw down bolt?

I was worried too about drilling the hole for mine, but I measured about 4 times and dad measured a time or two and we drilled it. Amazingly, it fit right where we measured, my luck never goes that way. To hold the center section we ran a chain through the ball mount and strung it up through the bed and then held it with a block or wood or something, i dont remember. We had jsut bought a new bucket truck at the time, so Dad might have played with the new toy and used the 13K winch on the boom truck. Anyway, the chain method worked great, didnt have to hold anything. Loose fitted everything together, than tightened bolts according the instructions. Was really a simple job, I am glad I didnt pay the couple hundred $$$ the shop wanted for install, they would have made good money for such a simple job.

This is how I had to do it.
pulled out bed liner
measured
measured
measured
drilled pilot hole, then use 1" thick board as guide for hole saw.
painted edge.
put bed liner back in.
measured twice.
drilled bed liner using 1" board again

I have an areo 60 gallon tank with 4" exhaust, no way to fit plate up.

took out the passenger side bed bolts(almost took an impact wrench)
loosen up the drivers side bed bolts.
jacked up the passenger side bed about 4"
with the front and back cross members bolted to the main plate, slide it in(two person)
lowered the bed back down.
put the side brackets on.
tightened bed bolts
tightened all bolts up on the B & W.
put black RTV around hole and bedliner/

don't forget to put the parking brake bracket bolt in or you will have to grind some off it to fit.

Now have to find GN to buy.

I think this way was actually pretty easy. You don;t have to lift and bolt at the same time.

There should be a square hole about 1/8" in size, that's where the carriage bolt should stick out. This is on the drivers side side plate, right about at the bottom of the frame. The carriage bolt is about 1" long. I forgot to stick it in before I bolted the side plate, so I ground down the top, and made it fit. The instruction are pretty vague, the bolt size is listed.

Rusty, That's a 5/16" X 1" carrage bolt with flange nut (or nut and washer) I gave my bracket a slight bend and it all fit better. I think you might ought to see if you can find a hole for those two extra bolts.
