I'm thinking of making them out of 304 SS 1" 11ga square tubing, triangulated w/o gussets; I just can't decide if it's worth it to build them box-style, like individual space frames, so they'd have maximum torsional rigidity.

Why do the frame-mount bushings tear up like that? Just underbuilt? Heim joints give a freedom of movement in 2 axes, so what forces besides "pitch" act upon the ladder bars?

does anyone make some that would fit on a 2wd 1 ton dually? I get the axle wrap in first and second with my 48' 3 car wedge when it is loaded up.

They don't hold up when the axle articulates. Tuck one wheel in the fender and let the other droop in a whole and you get a lot of twisting on a joint designed to "swing". Sooner or later the joint fails. The heim allows for swing and twist. Do you follow?

Will those Warrior 6200's fit on a long wheel base truck?I've found several venders that make them for short wheelbase rigs. This will be the 1st one to fit a long wheelbase if I'm not mistaken.
