Anybody own Weekend Warrior TT Toy Hauler?

Ash,
I agree. I appreciate Sandbrat bring all of this up though, nevertheless.
All internet forums are full of people spouting off about this or that all the time. Shoot, occasionally im guilty of it too....right here on DTR!!
I once heard that my cousin's, best friends, dads, boss, knew a guy who had a problem with "whatever". Now all of the sudden....the "whatever" is a bad product.
I didn't take your comment to mean you were slamming anybody. You just have filter any comments you read along with the totality of all the comments you read. It sounds like a few people have had frame problems with the WW trailers...particularly the early ones. So it is something to watch out for but not necessarily a reason to NOT buy this one. right?

I purchased mine new and it's been great. Three of them in our group and the others have been fine also. Friends with Thor and Carson have had problems. Check the roof as it's time for a reseal, along with wheel bearings and zerks on the springs. That's about it with these.
thanks,
Kelly

You should have the roof inspected or sealed if required, once per year. That's according to Warrior. I've always cleaned and inspected mine on a regular basis and noticed that at the three year mark some of the sealant was just starting to curl at the edges. I had Warrior strip off the old sealant and apply new. Camping World or an RV shop can perform the service as well, or better. Think it cost me $595.00.

Well im going to go get this trailer and borrow it for the weekend. Hopefully, I can look it over really close and see if there are any frame problems or anything else for that matter.
If everything is fine...as expected....im going to get it for sure! Even if it looks like it might have a weak point in the frame, I expect somebody in the N. Texas DTR club will have a solution for it...before it becomes a problem. I am sure it can be reinforced if needed. If it looks like it a problem that can't be resolved, then I will know it was better to not buy it.
Thanks everybody for your input on this thread, so far!

Robert, that's a great deal - jump on it!
I wouldn't sweat the WW frame issue - since when is stock good enough, anyway?
That guy in Farmersville does custom fabrication for a living, and has built some awesome equipment... just bring him a big fat wad of cash and he'll get ya fixed up.

The trailer might weigh twice what it does now....but think about the peace of mind.

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing. Our trucks can handle it no problem, but have you had any issues with your hitch? 1800# and 2300# are well over the weight limit, and even with weight bars 1400# pushes the limit!
I'd buy it and keep an eye on the tongue. The first sign of bending have it reinforced. If it becomes too much hassle or whatever, sell it.

My '98 had a TSB for the factory hitch cracking, the fix was some additional brackets mounted with some pre-existing holes in the frame and receiver... I'd think your truck would've had the same TSB?

Well I got the trailer this weekend and took it to our N. Texas DTR get-together.
Several guys looked it over and gave it nothing but positive blessings. No current frame problems. Weekend Warrior definately did reinforce the frames based on what I have read about the earlier WW models. They probably could have spent just a little more time and money and done a MUCH better job with the reinforcing...however, it does appear adequate.
Just for my own information..... I went to some nearby CAT scales and weighed my truck with the trailer as it was loaded. Then I took the trailer back to the owner and weighed my truck alone on the way back. Keep in mind that there were no "toys" in the back to off-set any of the front weight, so this is probably as heavy as the trailer would ever be on the front hitch.
The weights are as follows......Truck 4460 front axle, Truck 5060 rear axle, and 6560 on the trailer axles.
Truck alone was....................4840 front axle and 3200 rear axle.
So it appears that the hitch weight from the trailer was around 1860lbs. Definately putting me over the 1200lb stock hitch weight rating.
I think im going to be buying a Weekend Warrior and a Class V receiver hitch!!

p.s. congrats on the great dyno numbers - your truck is so consistent you should bracket-race it!
#59
Yes that was with the weight distribution bars.
The dyno #s were VERY consistent!! But also consistently stressing my stock transmission!

Well I did get the Weekend Warrior!! I am very excited! I already have an ATVing/Camping trip already lined up for later this month. This trailer is going to work out so much better than my double towing with that little 5th wheel/utility trailer I was using prior.
I also just installed a Putnam XDR Class V receiver hitch. Nice!
