Another quick question: @load and helper springs
On a 2006 shortbed 3500, can anyone estimate how much weight would make the truck sit on the helper springs?
There aren't any scales nearby where I can weigh this trailer, and I'd like to get the tongue weight set properly. My air-ride hitch is level at roughly 60psi, which should equal about 1200# tongue weight. But the bed is about 1/2" from touching the helper springs.
Any thoughts?

Hmmm. Any idea how close they were?
Right now, with the static load, the rubber stoppers are about 1/4-1/2" away from touching the helper springs.
It seems to be squatting an awful lot for only 1200# of tongue weight. Which makes me concerned that it's actually more weight that I have calculated.
But maybe I'm just paranoid.
