air hitch

anyone using a air bag hitch (especially an easy rider ) i tow a 7000 lb travel trailer with a 2004.5 4x4 3500 and their are threads on various sites that the truck suspension will "tear the trailer apart ". sounds to me like a large pile of bull especially since they recommend a 2500

I just got my Air Ride Hitch and will be using it to tow the 5th wheel flat deck very soon.
Its a very well built solid unit.
It has two gabriel shocks and four air bags! What I like about it is it has full articulation, some of the others do not.
Its a heavy unit. I like it.
I will report how it works asap.
I am looking forward to the elimination of the bounce from the trailer to the truck. This should work out real well with the T-Rex suspension.

Any updates? Anyone using one or used one in the past? Looks like a good idea to me. I might get one if I could get some feedback.

I hauled a real heavy load with my hi deck in December...in the dead of winter...-30F.
Air bags did not leak and it was the nicest rid I ever had towing.
The rear axle weight with trailer on was 5500.

Total weight over the scales hauling tow trailers was 13,800 kgs.

I think Top on here is getting the air ride hitch recvr to pull his houseboat.

You might check into the MORryde rubber kingpin. Sure changes the harshness of the chucking action at a whole lot less money. It does nothing for up and down, but good shocks on the truck and running level should take care of that. And, as previously stated, I hate air bags and the mess of airing them and replacing them when they puncture - - just personal experience with them - - I want no more air bags on anything if I can help it.

I think you have to consider what your objectives are in making the decision. Good suspension on the trailer, such as MORryde IS suspension is amazing at reducing the wear and tear on the trailer frame, overall construction and the position of the contents at the end of a trip. I just pulled in about an hour ago from 5 hours of running, some of it through about 60 miles of nasty road construction. I opened the door, and to my horror realized I had left the glass coffee pot sitting on the kitchen counter. It was still in the same place as when I locked the door.

The Kingpin is about $800.
