Air bag in side frame or out side?

What is the best type to get the ones mount inside the frame or the ones that mount outside?

I got the Firestone Ride Rites. Love them and they have an awesome product. Mounted to the axel. No drilling all simple hand tool instal. Took about an hour to do it all. Mounted the pump against the firewall under the hood, and the gauge and switch assembly near the right knee driver side.

I like my firestones also. Lifetime warranty on the bags themselves, works well...

I think pretty much every setup i've seen has the bags inside the frame on 3rd gens and outside on 2nd gens.

Firestone Ride Rites, the easiest setup I've seen. No pump here, just an air gauge at the back bumper. They mount on the axel just inside of the leaf springs.

Firestone Ride Rites with onboard air and tank. Lifetime on the bags and 1 year on the air lines, dual needle gauge, and compressor.

The only problem I've had was the gauge went bad and caused a slow leak to the bad on the right side, and it was replaced under warranty at Les Schwab with no out of pocket costs.

I plan on upgrading the compressor and tank .... they won't work for the train horns that will be my install project this summer.

Firestone has two kits for the 97 2nd gen one is the no drill that goes inside of the frame rail. The other is a drill the frame rail to mount and it goes on the outside for the frame. I am looking to get the one that is a no drill goes inside just wanting to get some input on what everyone else is running.

My 2500HD came with a camper package so it has overload springs and a rear sway-bar. I only have one option when it comes to the Ride Rite ... inside frame rail. I HATE IT!!!! It replaced the factory bump stop with a "BIGGER bump stop". I've tried keeping 10 psi, I've tried no air, I've tried 20 psi ... it sucks. The only time it doesn't suck is when I have my 2500lbs camper on top of it with 80 psi!.

If I were you, I take the outside frame rail version.

3rd gens mount inboard. No other option due to clearance. No issues at all for me.

I run 15 psi empty and 40 loaded with my trailer.

Where are you guys getting these from and about how much are you spending?

I have a shop/compressor so I'm just trying to find some bags that I can inflate when I leave on a trip somewhere?

I hate ebay, but heres what I found:
