First, I would like to say that I'm not against air bag hitches, But it only goes to prove my biggest complaint; The first thing anyone should be spending the money on is to improve the suspension on the trailer and NOT the hitch, sure the truck rides nice an smooth with that air bag hitch, but try taking a ride in that trailer and then tell me what you think about a air bag hitch. You would wish you spent that money on up-grading the trailer suspension. If the trailer would ride as smooth as the truck did there would be no need for that air bag hitch.

I'm with Bob....
The Driving experience counts for a lot also... I understand the need for a better suspension and if you tow a lot then you should consider it >> But the Air Hitch improves the ride in the truck and give you back so much comfort and control that I wouldn't want to be without it... Although I experience is with bumper style >> I can imagine that would translate to fivers and Goosenecks as well.

I've towed quite a few units with both the MorRyde system and and an air pin box setup. That combination makes a world of a difference as compared to units without either.
I had seen (passed) a truck with a flatbed body and an air 5th wheel hitch and had to slow up just to watch it. Looked interesting, but I was wondering about all the bouncing around movement of the trailer in the video. The truck I saw was on an interstate and the trailer was only bouncing up and down over the expansion joints of the concrete. In the video that thing is really hopping around. What kind of lifespan do those bags on the hitch have??? It really seems unstable as far as the trailer's ride. I realize that most of that movement is absorbed by the truck with a standard 5th wheel hitch but I think I would be very nervous watching the front of my trailer bouncing around like that going down the highway.

I considered that too as I watched the movement in my hitch in my rear view mirror. Then, I saw a video of what was really happening as taken from the side view. The truck is doing most of that bouncing up and down, not the trailer. That is what is so good. The actual movement in the front of the trailer is much less because it does not have to follow the truck as it goes up and down in the dips. The response from the trailer is not forced as it is in the solid hitch up. In the solid hitch the truck drops and pulls the trailer down with it - - likewise back up. In the air hitch, the truck drops reducing support to the trailer, so the trailer starts to drop - - but by that time the truck is moving back up and cushions that drop in the trailer making the actual movement up and down in the front of trailer quite less than the truck is doing. It is important to maintain good shocks on the air hitch to eliminate bouncing just like on the suspension.
My air bags are Firestone and carry a ten year replacement guarantee. I keep the hitch covered when not in use to keep the sun off the bags.
