Adding L.E.D. light's to my trailer

I'm tired of dealing with these cheap light's on my 48' car trailer. I think the LED's are so pretty. They remind me of fishing lure's catching fisherman, as the led's catch truck driver's.

So anyway. Can I safely change out 6 existing light's, and add about 6 or 8 additional light's without putting a strain on my electrical system. The led's are the 3 diode per light type. I remember reading something about adding light's made people's headlight switch get really hot. But at the time, I didn't think it applied to my truck for some reason. But,,,I could be wrong. Any thought's. Thank's.

I would say you'll be safe. LED's draw so little it's incredible. Sometimes I have to change out the flasher on trucks that I install LED lights on because the stock flasher doesn't 'read' that there's any draw there and therefore won't flash.

I switched to LED's and added a few extra. Easy as pie, no problems at all.

you could add 100 more led's and not draw the amps your old bulbs are now...

Add as many as you want, your pocket book will probably tell you to stop before your electrical system will..

Thank's for all the replies.

I hear you guy's on the cost. The way my light's are mounted, I'm limited to space. So, I need a special mounting base. Each light is going to cost me $15. I've just been picking a few up at a time. I sure wish I could get buy without that special base. Pilot has a 4 pack of light's for $20, but unfortunatly they won't mount up.

Send donation's to my "Light the way" fund for lost Auto Transporter's. You can use my Paypal account, or send a new, unopened light to me directly. Please be sure to include solder and shrink tube. Thank you for caring. Give till it hurt's, cause buying all these light's is killing me.

I added another set of brake light LEDs to my trailer and changed out the regular oval tail lights that were on it to LED's. Cost was around $170.00 Well worth it, people see them way better. I hit the blinker now and people stay back and let me get over. It was a huge difference.

Did the same thing, changed out a few at a time because of the cost. They are great, a lot more visible. Read an article in a trucking magazine a couple of years age and it stated that they drew only 10% the amps. that old bulbs did. I've had several good comments about mine and I added several with no electrical problems at all.

I changed just my talilights out as all the rough gravel roads I was bouncing down kept rattling the filaments out of the bulbs. Seemed like once a month I was replacing a bulb. Found a LED replacement that bolted right in for $50 for the pair! Just have to get on the markers now...
