74'....wow!!!!

I couldn't believe it was that long but it was and the truck did just fine. I know it's a little over the limit but I'm only going a few miles (30) and the ole girl pulled like nobody's business through the mountains. I have a new respect for my truck. I'm thinking I might put a new axle with brakes under the boat so I don't have to use the TT to stop it. Handled beautifully and the boat tracked very well. Oh yeah, ball to ball is legal in AR, just not the 74'.

How much is your reciever on the truck rated for? And the drop hitch with ball? If everything was within its capacities then awesome, if not uh oh... lol

I have a weight dist. hitch on the truck and a 3500lb hitch on the TT that's bolted to the bumper and also welded to the frame for support. This was my first trip with the train and all went well. I wanted to see what the truck had in her and went up a 6% 1/2 mile grade at 55 and was gaining speed!!! I had to get out of it because of EGT's, but I was very impressed.

I have a similar picture in my gallery, but I decided not to take the chance. Truck pulled it fine, just had driver issues. I was also told that my insurance might not cover being its over length. I think I was 70' or so on mine. Sweet boat ya got there.

Thanks for the comment on the boat. Here's a before and after:

Don't know where my pic in the post went, maybe I did something wrong.
Yeah, hopefully the law will leave me alone but you never know.

I thought you could only pull more than on trailer if the first was a 5th wheel, no matter how long you are.

That's generally accepted...5th wheel, then ball. Also, some states require <70' and others require <65'

It's legal in Arkansas to pull ball to ball as long as you're under 65'...I'm a little over. Different states have different laws.

Wow very impressive. What do you think the weight is? I guess a CTD might be able to pull a house off it's foundation.

Actually it's a pretty light load. TT grosses at #7700 and the boat is probably no more than #3000. The picture is decieving.
