5ver to trailer conversion?

Well, I've got this old 5th wheel camper that I know I'm never gonna use. We were going to put it on the property while building the house, but I picked up a decent old mobile home that'll work a lot better. So, here I am with this 1978 Twilight Bungalo (go ahead, laugh ) and I'm not sure what to do. The roof has leaked in places and it wouldn't be good for much more than a hunting camp, to be honest. Sooo, I'm thinking about gutting it, taking the aluminum siding to scrap and making a nice 5th wheel trailer out of it. The frame plate is stamped 10,000 pounds, so it's a fairly beefy setup. Brakes on both axles. Good enough to haul a car or little tractor, is what I'm thinking. If I could get a grand for the camper, I'd sell it, but it's really not the time of year (thinking hunting camp sale) and I won't likely go out and spend the $$$ on a trailer anytime soon. So, whatcha think?

Those Twighlight Bungaloes were made in Oklahoma, and yes they were made stout, they were great built trailers in thier day, with a little work I bet it would make a great trailer for what you are looking for. Goodluck,,Rick

Thanks for the info! It is a pretty serious looking frame, and the camper was pretty well squared away for the day. We spent most of last summer using it weekends to get out of the house (staying with the folks till the house is done ) and it treated us quite well The only thing that will be somewhat pricey, I imagine, is having ramps custom made. After pulling the old girl home from where I bought it, I never want another bumper pull trailer--that fiver feels lighter than my little utility trailer
