5th wheel hitch question

Hey yall I need some help. I just bought me a brand new 2004 CTD quad cab 2500 4x4 short bed with 9000 GVW 48re. I need to install a new hitch. I heard of this under the bed rails and a company called pull rite and reese make hitches for these new style rails. Does anyone have either one, if so whats the pros and cons.

Thanks bill7975

Wow, Scotty, that thing looks fancy.

Bill, if what you are looking for is a flat bed when the hitch is out, you might also look at B&W. They make a goose neck hitch with all the hardware under the bed that turns over when not in use, and a 5th wheel hitch that attaches to the same socket.

The 5th wheel jaws are pretty stout, and it pivots 4 ways. To remove, there is one bolt, and two U bolts that have to be loosened, so it does require a wrench to remove...

Bill7975 the one thing you need to remember is thta yo will need a slider hitch. Yes PullRite has a very nice slider, but it is costly, I know because I have one and love it. I think it's worth every penny I paid.

It only leaves 4 holes in the floor of the truck when you remove it. It also has the capability to use it as a gooseneck if you go with the superrails and not the universal rails.

I agree with my friend, SuperGewl. Pullrite makes a first class product. While I don't have the Superglide I have a friend that does and he loves it. There is no chance of damage to the truck cab or trailer if you happen to forget you have a short box. Given the cost of body work, that Pullrite can easily pay for itself first time out. The super rail set up is great.

Good luck in your search.

Casey

Next time I will read the signature...Pull Rite is a good choice for a short bed.

One good thing is you can use a George Foreman Grill whether you have a short bed or long bed.

Just be sure to get the short bed version of the GF grille.
