2005 Cruiser by Cross Roads RV

I'am looking at a 2005 Cruiser 5th wheel manufactured by Cross Roads model 29RK. It is aluminum framed, fiberglass exterior, 2 slides on one side. Could you share any experience you have had with this company or better yet this particular model? Thanks,

We have that same trailer. We have owned about 1 1/2 years now and ordered it with every option. We love it and have had no problems. Crossroads is one of the best companies to take care of it's customers. We love the 29RK because of all the counter space. We just bought 2 new Lazy Boy recliners for it today. We looked at several other brands in this price range and after a lot of research on rv.net went with the Cruiser. I hope this helps.

Thank you, it's great to hear from someone who actually owns and uses one. The one we are looking at is a new one that has been sitting on the lot since at least 05 if not the year before so it could have been there 2 years. My concern is the 2 slides on one side. It has been sitting with the slides out for display and it looks like the camper tilts to that side. The stablizer jacks are not down and maybe they don't have the front legs levels. I guess my concern is not having slides on both sides of the camper to counter balance the weight. I'll have to check it out before buying. We like the idea of all the windows and especially the picture window by the door.

We are trying to sell our camper in our signature and down size to the cruiser. Our Jayco has many options we do not use or need as we don't full time and will not be for quit some years. Our camper is a retirement live-in type.

Have them run the slides in and see if it sits level then that should tell you if the suspension is okay. We just bought 2 Lazy Boy recliners Saturday to replace the 2 swivel rockers the trailer came with. If it is a new 05 they have had for a while you should be able to get 30% to 40% off MSRP. We got ours for 26% off MSRP and we ordered ours. Let me know how it turns out.

Bought a 2005 27rl last year and just love it. So far not a single problem to report after about 10 outings.

I will definitly be checking the level of the camper before buying. The dealership owner is gone for a few days to a trade show so I will have to wait awhile. It stickers for 29,000 and he's parting with it for 23000 I think I'll just milk this one for a while and see if I can get it for less. I know there use to be a 10,000-15,000 dollar mark up on simular priced units, maybe with fuel and building material going up the markup is not as much any more. If I miss out on this one it's no big deal as the camper I have now is nicer and bigger. It's only because we are trying to down size is the only reason I'am persueing this one.

$23,000 is pretty high even if it was the current model year and just delivered. I would shoot for $20,000 on this one. That would be just over 30% off. The dealer shouldn't get to leave it set up for a year or two with people tromping through it from free, plus it isn't current year.

I totally agree. If he's had it this long maybe I can swing a pretty good deal. Him having it this long is also why I'am skeptical about the unit. I will definitly be hooking up to it before signing anything. I usually get alot of dealers P.O.ed at me because I'am not one of those guys who beleaves in dealerships with bottom line pricing. Bottom line means I pay for someone else's inability to negotiate.

We paid $26k for ours and that was ordered with every option and a 5th wheel hitch installed with a Prodigy brake controller. So yes I think $20k to $21k would be a good deal on it.

Check this guy out, he has had the lowest prices on crossroads that I have found anywhere. I went to my local dealer to see if he could match this guys prices and he laughed at me, told me if I could buy one that cheap I had better jump on it lol.. Anyway, if you are serious I would check there prices out, they are really competitive.
