Thinking of buying a 2012 6.7

Dealer has a 2wd SLT 6.7 Crew,automatic,3.73 geared truck. They knocked $8k off MSRP without a blink or a burp from me. How much more should I dig in for?

Id say thats a fair price, but, you could probably squeeze another couple grand off if you play hardball.

Could also go for a deal like some free oil changes for a year if that interests you.

You think? Another couple grand? I liked it a lot better with another two grand off.

10k off the sticker is not unheard of at this time.

8k is still a good deal too. Like I said before, you may be able to get 8k and some extras, like the oil changes, or have them spray in a bedliner or a 5th wheel hitch or something. My dealer is good to work with for add ons. Never know, cant hurt to ask.

Agreed, especially this time of year for a 12. They should have some accessories too they can "throw" on the deal to land it. Never hurts to ask.

Already has a spray in liner. Which I really don't want or like. I prefer a drop in liner. Thanks for the advise.

Which truck are you replacing? If you can't get 12K off, walk out. That's what I did a couple months ago. Then I went and bought a newer commuter car, a 2008 Nissan Maxima with only 44k miles on it. The amount they want for vehicles these days it will also have to be exactly what I want, no sacrifices because it is what they have on there lot.

Only downside to the newer trucks is the emmissions crap but, if you work the truck regularly the issues are reduced greatly. That is the only downside I have heard of. Great ride, great interior, etc. The only issue with the A/C I heard of is at first startup when real hot outside, it takes a little while to get cold. Most folks that stay stockish love the 68rfe auto tranny.

Remind your dealer that the 2013s are coming in December and should be worth waiting for. He doen't want to get "stuck" with a 2012 on the lot (not that there's anything wrong with a 2012). My dealer is advertising $10-$12k off MSRP on 2012s.

Hinckley in Salt Lake City- long ways from you though, but just for example, they are quoting me $43,900 (MSRP $54,720) for this one. No doc fees, 1-year maintenance included:

It looks all the trucks they have left with $14k off sticker are hemis. Most of the diesels are $10-$11k off sticker.

(edit: just noticed you're looking for a 2wd- won't find one of those around here)
