Sweetgrass Montana Parts Pick Up.

I'm planning to make a Sweetgrass, Montana parts run later this month.

If anyone needs anything picked up, order it now & I'd be happy to grab it for you.

I'll be using http://www.montanashipping.com/montana_shipping_003.htm again. These guys rock.

While it's a 3 hour drive 1 way to get there, it's so worth it & so easy.
I've made 3 or 4 runs over the last 2 years or so with zero issues.
You have to pay GST on everything & duties on anything not made in the U.S.
The shipping outlet charges US$3 for a small package & $5 for a larger box.
They can even handle crates, tires, wheels, motorbikes, cars...etc...
They don't charge anything for regular packages to sit & only a few dollars for a crate to sit around.

For multiple shipments you do have to plan ahead & stay on top of the shipments. I always order the small stuff 1st & let them sit & then order the larger stuff.

Over here we have a bar in a small town across the border that lets us send there and we do the same...pay the tax and carry on. We always stop for lunch etc. I may have a new Weber bbq heading there next week.

Scotty, just curious where you're at? I grew up in S. Sask (Coronach), basically on the border.

Hooterville. Regina.

On edit, I know where Coronach is and yes that is very close to the border. The town we go to is Fortuna.

I've been a couple times already to the montana shipping outlet in sweetgrass. Zack is a good cat. I will for sure use them in the future too.

So I took a 1/2 day off work & cruised down there on Wednesday.

Left early, 640Km total roundtrip, 130km/h+ all the way since there was no traffic at all & it's such a boring drive.
I actually calculated my mpg for this trip again & got exactly the same as the last trip 22.1mpg. $74 worth of fuel.
Although my truck is configured differently these days with the Edge J/A gone, only the Smarty & 50HP nozzles.

No issues except that Zack is not a morning person.. I was there at 9am precisely but he showed up later..
I would recommend calling him the day before if you plan to be there right at 9am.

Declared everything at the border, including another members package that I picked up. All auto/rv parts, all US made, no duties, just GST on the total.
I should mention that you do need a passport. I wouldn't try to cross without one these days.

Note that diesel was US$3.33/US gallon for diesel in Sweetgrass which works out to C$0.90/L but it is only C$0.859/L in town here.

This is so easy & such a huge savings there might be a business opportunity for someone to cruise down a couple times a year ... hint, hint DieselDave!!

Joe, I paid 2.79 a gallon in Great Falls. Where did you find diesel there? I go there fairly often as well.

I'll probably go there in a few weeks, but my truck will be pretty full.

Ah haven't been there in a while! Spend to much money when I do because it's such a long drive.

But I will say I was suprised, my last pallet costed me $120 Was oversized and sat there for a month or so, fees there last time were around $200 total, o well.

And Zack seemed to be a lot less friendly then the last few times......

So I have a few things I need & am planning a Sweetgrass run again this fall. Mid to late October or so.

If anyone wants to co-ordinate with me, I would be happy to pick up their goods also.

At this point I am planning 4 RV trailer tires & several smaller items so should have lots of room.

Order early so your goods are there well ahead of the pickup date. Montana Shipping Outlet doesn't charge extra for packages left there for over a month.
