Tutorial?

Hello Admin,

I started a thread a while back about an idle control device for the 2nd gen 24v's. I kind of dropped out of the loop for a while, but I never gave up on the idea. So, I checked back and I see that people have almost figured it out completely. I just have a few minor tweaks to it, to make it more reliable and user friendly (also, in the spirit of of the origianl idea, make it so that it can be hooked up to a remote start).

So, what I would like to do is to write up a tutorial on how to build one of these things. It will be complete with pictures, parts lists, and detailed instructions. What I would like to do with this tutorial is make it available, perhaps in the tech articles section. So, what do you think? Useful or no?

Sean I am not familiar with your thread so please excuse me if I seem to misunderstand your intentions here. Are you planning on selling this thing as a kit?

I didn't say he couldn't I just want to understand what he is asking me. I went back and looked at his thread and there are a couple of references to selling them.

I can't give him an answer until I am sure what I am giving the OK to. I don't want him to put a bunch of effort into something only to learn we have a mis-understanding.

Larry,

I thought about selling them early on, but there are too many liabilities to be considered in the way of copyrights. I just wanted to put together a tutorial. Although, if someone asked me to build one for them (keywords being "one" an "for them") I would consider it. I realize that not everyone posses the tools and/or patience to assemble these sorts of things, so it would just be to help them out. Just like people ask if anyone has something to sell. I also don't want to get it into it to the point that I would be considered a manufacturer.

The way I see it, I have taken a lot of information from this site. This site has been a phenominal resource, and it's all because people contribute their efforts and knowledge to the pool. I am asking for a chance to contribute something that will be easy to find and useful. So, I guess I'm asking if we could somehow add a tutorial to the tech articles section.

I hope that clears things up. If there's anything else that isn't clear, or you have any other questions, I'd be gald to ("try to") give you some answers.

Sean
