Posting a sound file?
In one of the exhaust threads, someone was wondering if sound files could be posted to the forums. The attachment section of the message says only allowed file type is .jpg. Does the forum software check file headers to enforce this, or merely the extension?

You can't post a sound file directly on a DTR forum. If you want to do so, you can post it elsewhere and provide a link to it.
This would be easy for anyone with their own webpage.

So it does check the headers then, I guess? FWIW, I'm not looking to post a sound file of my truck--I'm sure everyone knows what a stock CTD with stock exhaust sounds like. I was just asking on behalf of someone else's speculation.

Yes it checks the headers, it will only allow .jpg files to be posted.

That's what I figured. Darn programmers are getting smarter all the time.
