Login hassle

I finally got myself a new computer and now when I enter this site I have to login every time. When I type in the first letter of my username it fills in the rest and puts in my password so I can just press GO.

Before as soon as I opened this site I was already logged in and went directly to the forums. I tried clearing my cookies but that didn't help. Can I fix this somehow?

Thanks!!

Click the button that says "user cp", then select "user options". Select the option that says "automatically login" and you'll be all set.

Sidewinder,

Mine does the same thing. I tried resetting my options again, but it still requires me to login each time.

wannadiesel,

I went to the user options and it was already set for automatic login. I switched it to NO, submitted changes and shut down Explorer. Reopened, reset auto login to YES and closed. Opened Explorer again and went to DTR but had to log in. It's still not working.

Thanks for the info anyway!!

No promisses, but try these steps:
(Im assuming your using Internet Explorer)?

1) go to "tools"
2) select "internet options"
3) in the middle of the box, choose "Deletel Cookies"

Try loging in again.

If that doesnt do it, try the following:
1) go to "tools"
2) select "internet options"
3) go to the "content" tab
4) click the "auto complete" button
5) click the "Clear Forms" tab and then answer OK.
6) Then click the "Clear Passwords" tab, answer OK.
7) then click the "Ok's" to close the dialog box.
8) try to login again

If that still does not work, make sure you dont have your internet security turned up to "high". It should be set at medium or default level to allow cookies to be stored on your drive.

Hope one of these works for you.

DieselDaze,

I am using Windows XP home and Internet Explorer 6. I tried all of the above and it is still doing the same thing. When I opened the site the first time after clearing everything I did have to completely retype my username and password but after that it was the same as before. Oh yea, my security is set to medium.

Thanks!!

Are you behind any kind of firewall?
Could your firewall (Norton Personal Firewall, ZoneAlarm, etc) be blockng cookies?
If not, then you got me.

Sorry I could not be more assistance.

Funny you should ask, no firewall yet but I did ask a question about one in the "OTHER" forum.

not logged in

When I click onto the site I get the same login info, but if I just click on the forums button, I am already logged in.
some time ago this site did this and then something changed and it was ok. Now it is back.

Also try logging in and go to main page "where it says Welcome So and So" and then hit ADD TO FAVORITES. You will be logged in everytime you come back through your favorites.

j-fox,

I tried going directly into the forums (without logging in) and as you said I was already logged in. This works fine for me as I always hit the forums first. Thanks for the help!
