Re:jokes
I also like the jokes, and I definately appreciate your suggestion, but I want to keep the site focused on Dodge and Cummins powered vehicles.

Although I love a good joke sometimes, I don't feel it appropriate to make that kind of a change and lose focus on what the site is really about.

The "other" forum is always available for jokes and other issues, although I also like to see the focus stay mainly on the sites' theme.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Jack

Re:jokes
Jack,

While I agree the site needs to maintain its core focus I believe this is now more of a community than just a message board for CTDs. At first all I did was scour the site for information but as I have interacted more with the other members I find the “Other” forum one of the most enjoyable. I don’t eat breath and sleep CTDs but this site has made me more interested in my truck, something I had taken for granted for a long time. At the same time I now look forward to seeing what the other members are doing with their trucks and their personal lives (at least what little tid bits that are shared) It really is wonderful to find a group of people who seem to share common values as well as interests.

My 0.02 anyway

Keep it up.

Jay
Re:jokes
Yeah, what Jbolt said. We're a community of CTD and others sharing a common bond and interest. While the primary focus is and should be OUR trucks, there are times when we need to kick back, relax, spin a few (ok, many) yarns, pass along bits and pieces of our lives that as men, we wouldn't share freely with others. Jack, face it, you've created something more than you originally intended and it is well and good. I personally feel comfortable amongst my DTR friends. What more can I say? The rising membership speaks a wealth of what's happening. I feel that humor is a form of medicine, bringing a bit of laughter and sunshine (heck, I'll settle for a snicker or even just a bit of a smile for my submissions) to our busy and hectic days (except for TOP, whom we know lives the ideallic lifestyle in West By God Virginian of the retired old soldier, gone home to rest (DUCK, incoming). Certainly couldn't do that over on the 'other" site.

~Dave

I just looked at the number of posts and replies for each category, The "Other" forum has the largest numbers of any of them. Perhaps this is because it has the largest amount of member interaction, or maybe just because NWDave is always shooting his mouth off in there!

Notice how easily I shifted the blame to NWDave, a true master at work ;D

You could look at it two ways. Yes, the other forum has the largest number of posts during the day out of any single category, or board. However, if you count the total of truck related posts to the "other" forum posts, it's not even close, the truck posts way outnumber the non-truck posts.
I also agree that we're a family here now, and I enjoy that quite a bit, but I stand firm that we can keep the jokes and other things in the "other" forum. It's doing what it was designed to.
Also keep in mind that if I put up a joke forum, then someone is going to want a gun forum, and someone else might want a fishing forum, and hunting, and bmx bikes, etc. You get the idea.....

I agree but I think a "Tops" Tips forum would only benefit the masses. After all everyone is entitled to my opinion! ;D.

Jack you must be doing something right, it keeps growing and growing!
