Cat thread locked out?
Jack,You locked out the cat thread because it is violation of the law,yet there are posts on speeding, smoking and other violations of the law that are not locked out.I don't think the feds can hold this site responable for what is said by members.Correct me if i'm wrong.
Thanks Mike
PS Not sturring up trouble just want to know!

We simply do not wish to supply a place for someone to post directions on how to break a Federal law.
Speeding is something you accomplish by pushing harder with your right foot, we don't advocate it and that hardly can be considered the same thing as publicly posting directions on how to remove a Federally required smog device.
If you guys want to break the law, thats your choice, however encouraging people to do so, is not our mission here at DTR.

I guess we 1 ton owners have to stop talking about straight piping, changing the air filter, and removing the silencer ring. Those are violations of Federal law (Noise Control Act of 1972) because the GVW is over 10,000 lbs.

I think what would be more appropriate, is to remember that what you say here is of public record. I know of more than one individual that was refused warranty work after a Dealer noted him talking about his aftermarket mods on these forums.
To think that one day you could be held responsible for confessing publicly in your signature that you have broken the law, is not as far fetched as you may think.
Lots of people read these forums, a smart man might think twice before choosing to incriminate himself willingly in a public forum.
Regardless if you think it is worth being concerned about or not, the management here chooses to take the responsible position and not advocate breaking any laws.

Hmm I dunno. Gotta prove who was at the keyboard typing in the message. Got burned on ebay for a laptop and the cops said (even tho this guy burned 16,000 dollars from people) that I was up crap creek because they couldn't prove it was him typing the message. He walked free. I'd hardly believe the smog police would put their donuts down long enough to browse through here. But it ain't my site.
For the record I didn't remove my cat. The factory did.

Larry I know what you mean about the sig thing!I think most people know how to remove them and were just wondering if it picked up there milage or not.We pay a lot for our trucks and to not get the milage that we should sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!!My 02 was puttin out about 450hp and would get 15-17 around town, and the 03 is only gettin 13.3 -14.0 on the road empty.Again i did what i had to do now it is up to 16-17 on the hwy ,not as good as the 02 but better than it was!
