abreviations

I'm new to the diesel world. I see a lot of abreviations in the messages : apps, tps, etc. Is the a list somewhere that tells me what these mean? What is a 53 block etc.

Thanks Chuck

A lot of the abbreviations can be found here.

53 block is a block that had ultra thin walls and is prone to crack and leak coolant.
It can be found in 1999, 2000, and some 2001 trucks.

There are multiple discussions on it going on in the 24 valve engine and drivetrain forum.
