See dealer now

Does anyone know why my overhead display came on saying see dealer now..perform service..I have 51k on my 6.7...smarty did'nt show any codes,cleared it anyway.....not the first time....any help would be appreciated...

I had the exact same problem 2 weeks ago. Set your smarty back to stock program. Then set it back to whatever tune you had before. The display should be gone. It worked for me tha ks to some of the members here. Let us know how it goes.

Actually you don't have to reset the Smarty program back to stock. You just hook up for the DTC codes. I forget the exact menu but you want to read the codes with the SMarty. Then select clear codes. Fixes it in a snap.

Even if by chance it says no codes found, clear codes anyway.

My truck did the same thing, they replaced the egr valve.

just follow the clearing procedure in post #3. "clearing codes" with the smarty is only a temp fix. it will come back on.
