Stay far from stuff like Zmaxx. Tricky marketing makes it hard to not believe crazy infomercials on all those promising products. There's lots of them out there too. I think there is even a class action law suit against Zmax. There is way to many ultra high mileage diesels out there who've never seen anything but regular old parts store oil for me to go out and spend money on magical additives.

About the only legit additive is Marvel. My ol man has seen it save an engine after the oil had been drained and the engine started and driven (like the Zmaxx commercial) back in the day when he was a mechanic for a living. (granted it's been a long time since then and engines have changed)

We used to use Marvel in our radial enignes on our ag airplanes. It would cut the oil consumption down,to about 1-2 quarts and hr.Which is very good.Considering the normal consumption was about a gallon an hr.

LOL yeah they had rings.Just at the time 40 yrs old.had been overhauled many many times. No new parts, just surplus stuff.Air cooled 9 nine cylinder Pratt& Whitney's. 1340 CI 600 hp at 2200 rpms. 16:1 Blower. They won WWII,and alot of them are still running today. BTW they hold 9 gal of oil. Figure in the consumption and the ever present leaks, thats not bad for an average.
