OK, you all probably knew this, but you can get 3.73 ratio gears for the D80, and the D60.

So, those of you who want a little more gear, but find the 4.10s too much of a stretch, there is now a nice "middle" gear.

How about a 3.31? Wouldn't the carrier be different going 3.54 to 3.73?

They make two different versions of the 3.73-- one for the 4.10 carrier and one for the 3.55/4 carrier.

You can get taller ratios than 3.54 for the D80-- just not for the D60 up front

Yet another reason to try to find a 2wd project truck

yeah i went through that whole thing with the 4.10 to 3.73 but the 3.73's only drop the rpm by 200 only good thing is you dont have too change the carrier.

If they weren't twice the price of anyother D80 gearset, I'd consider them. Scratch that, I'm still considering them. But $700-800 bucks for gears alone is pretty steep.
