Yippee!
And about freakin' time.

I realize that I'm jumping the gun a tad here, as we don't even have pricing laid out yet, but I can't help myself...

The Ram Air III for the 2003 Dodge (patent pending) is golden! Final fitment went VERY well this weekend, coupler issues have been resolved, and the first run of systems should be coming off the presses in 3 weeks.

I've attached a pic of an earlier prototype, before coupler issues were resolved. The final version will be virtually identical to this pic. The last prototype was done with a light gauge white plastic that looks horrible

Rod

Yeah, it reminds me why I put up with Scotty in the first place. He nailed the housing pretty much perfect.
Everytime he ticks me off, I go look at the housing

Haven't seen an actual scotty yet. On the website the filter looks very long. Will this one be shorter? And I guess it doesn't hook up through the cowl on the 03?

Thanks

And I guess it doesn't hook up through the cowl on the 03?
[/quote]

We're using a 12" long filter element, as the 14" was too long and the angles on the turbo inlet hose got funky in a hurry. The way it stands right now, we've got a 90 bend, with straight run down, and then another 90, exactly the same as the stocker airbox. Scotty's working on a [censored] extra-cost add-on to improve this section of the air system as well.

Results thus far are promising. On a stock truck, we're seeing 50 - 100F cruise EGT reductions, telling us that we're getting the air into the box. We're also seeing significantly better turbo spool-up and breathing, as well as an unexpected top-end power boost in the 10-20 HP range. We think the added airflow is fooling that IAT/air pressure sensor into believing its at a lower altitude, and its increasing fueling.

In a few weeks time, we'll have some warm climate EGT results as well. Our very own SplitPersonalityBob is going to be doing some testing for us, and getting some better EGT results.

Rod

The filter is two inches shorter.
And you are correct...no cowl connection.

Scotty

Push Rod wanted a natural sheep wool filter...lets just say I realigned his train of thought.

I'm ready for one.

Is it using an aFe filter like I suspect, or something different? And is the filter oiled or paper? I just read a post where Luke S. is saying that Diamler-Chrysler is giving dealers down the road if a person is using an oiled filter and the turbo has to be warrantied.

Yep, its using an aFe reusuable filter (20-40043).

hehe...you'll get no argument from me. But it does play to my favor that I'm friend's with the owner of my local Dodge garage, so I think I'm ok one way or the other.
Thanks for the info.
