Quad - XZT+ Updates 03/12/08?

Hey Quad - How has it been, man? Good to see ya around. I just noticed on your website new updates for the XZT+ dated 03/12/08. Whats new and improved with them? I've running the last updates, _2010, so would switching to the ones dated 03/12/08 be benificial?

Nope, they are all the same. We just added an error log and Vista support for all of them.

Alright, Kewl. Vista support? AWESOME. I know that will make a lot of people happy. Thanks for all the hard work Quad.

On a side note Quad, since I'm still using a Beta box, and I now have a new tranny, I'm still available to help test out new tunes when your ready. I feel the 110 miles of daily driving up and down the I-15 corridor through Riverside / San Diego County's that I do is a great test bed. Let me know.

Bootcamp in leopard, or VMware Fusion are both great options.

You still need Windows! ...and Bootcamp is for Intels only.

I'm being patient. He's working on it, along with a lot of other stuff I'm sure.

I guess since I have a PowerPC G4 that it will be a LOOOONG time before I'll have a way to update these USB-capable products.

A cheapo-refurb Dell is looking like a nice garage accessory about now.

I just tried to download the latest tunes for my XZT+ using Vista. Not sure but don't think it loaded. Stumbled throught most of the download (not smooth at all) but finally got a message saying it couldn't read my XZT module. I never could confirm what got loaded if anything.
Vista is possible the worst operating system yet and I'm going back to XP ASAP. What a royal PITA!!!
Anyone else tried to download the latest tunes while running VISTA? Any tips on how to do it? Thanks..
Mike

I am glad I saved all the original tunes. I downloaded the new aggressive tune because I had the old one. I was expecting it to be more aggressive as was noted on the update and it was very tame to say it nicely. I took it out and updated it again because I thought maybe I screwed something up. Nope, it's just tame, I could barely feel it kick in when I flipped it to timing and fuel. The old aggressive tune would make the whole truck leap when the switch was flipped, the old tune is much more potent on bottom and through mid. I did not get a chance to open it up on top to see who ran better on top. One good thing is that the new tune got rid of the bucking but, I like my old power with minor bucking. Anybody have the same problem? Sure wish there was something a little meaner.

I agree the new aggressive tune is milder on bottom...but I can leave it on timing and fuel all day without surging, which is great.

I agree, but I found myself flipping the switch to timing only in town after a few weeks of putting up with the bucking. I did like the power, it seemed to have a good bit more than the new aggressive tunes. I don't miss the bucking the new tunes don't have now though. But I wish there was one that split the difference b/t the new and old aggressive tunes.

Agree. My truck really liked the small inj tune but now it's gone. I did save the originals like you, but I really like the high idle for winter but once it warms up, sm inj is going back in. I thought that Quad was going to put all the updates on the original tunes but I guess not. I figure we ought to be happy since there is not another box that gives this much versatility for the price but it sure would be nice to have the originals with all the different variations.

Yeah, the bucking was the killer but, I only flipped the switch when I was dragging. Constant accelleration I could not feel it but once I let off I flipped it back to timing only. Now I can't feel the "bump" when flipping it to fuel and timing and it just does not pull like before.
I saw on another site Quad hinting about another tune that will get everything ou of the VP. I wonder when this is going to happen?

Man, I have no bucking or surging issues. And I'm running the Aggressive tune and the Xzillaraider.
