XZT+ high idle and P0500 code
I set my XZT+ to high idle yesterday morning and it didn't work. In fact, the box didn't work at all yesterday morning on the drive home. No difference between switch positions. I removed the box and plugged it into my computer and was able to read the info with the flasher. Plugged the box back in and started the truck, high idle worked. Started the truck this morning, high idle wouldn't work and I got a CEL with P0500 and P1693 codes. Will high idle alone cause the 0500 code? This is the first trouble I've had with the box.

P 500 is the VSS vehicle speed sensor. 1693 just shows that a code has been stored. The VSS is located in the rear axle housing. How did you get the high idle?

I got it yesterday with the high idle along with 0216 and 0230. I was inside and heard the truck sounding really bad and looked out and white smoke was everywhere. Ran outside and had 0 fuel pressure so I shut it down. Started it a few times and killed it and finally got some fp. I got to thinking that the vp should have been able to pull fuel even with no fp so I changed the filter and all has been good so far.
One thing I've noticed about the high idle is the first time I used it, it didn't do right. The truck would rev up to 1800 then back to 800 then to 1200. Now it's fine. I think the box has a learning ability or something because now it holds just fine between 11-1200 so it must have learned my truck and is now acting right. Can't wait for Quad to put it on some more tunes because the one it's on now doesn't agree with my truck at low boost with fuel/timing.

Usually the VSS doesn't go bad but if the wheels are spun while the truck doesn't move it could be tripped. And also 01 and up have torque management, maybe that could be another little glitch. Might have something to do with idling high and not going anywhere? The p 500 can mean no communication with the VSS. Remember yall have beta software, it can have bugs.
