XM Radio Mounting:

Where did you put you XM. I just ordered a "Roady" setup and I'm wondering where I'm gonna put it. Any ideas?

What year truck? Roady2 or original? According to another thread the original Roady sits very nicely in the ashtray on a 3rd gen.

I 'am not familiar with the roady kit but just an idea you could use a cell phone mount, they come all lengths and are adjustable , if your radio has changer capability, you can go direct audio using a Sound Gate adapter. Sound quality will be vastly better.
good luck

My trucks a 2002 and the XM is the Roady. AFAIK the Roady and Roady 2 are the same as far as dimensions. And the one I got has the wireless FM modulator. I know that's not the best sound quality but I got a good deal.

Anyway, it got delviered today so I'm going home to mount it up and I'll post pics tomorrow.

Well, I don't have any pics cause I took the lazy man's way out I still cant decide where to put the dash mount so I just ran the lines under my floormat and up between the seats and the Roady is just setting on my console. That way I can just pick it up and look at it.

As for the antennae, it's pretty simple. I just mounted it in the center of the roof right above the windshield and tucked the wire in the rubber molding, then around the door pillar, and behind the plastic over to the 4wd shifter, and then under the floormat and so on.

The FM modulator is the wireless type that plugs into the cig lighter so it's right in the same spot.

The mounting plate has about a 1.5" x 1.5" adhesive and I just can't find a good place to put it yet so for now it will stay on the console. Later I'll make something better and get a remote
