Wrong model Juice on a '98.5

I just purchased a Juice w/ Attitude that was advertised as a 98-01 compatable unit. After looking on the box and the Juice website I found no claim that it would work on anything but a 2001. The model is EDJ3500AWAM. Can this be used on my 98.5? Whats the difference?

It should work redpoint5. If I recall correctly my box said 98.5 so, that might answer a question. Mines a 99.5 and it works great. Any particular problem with the install?

Haven't tried installing yet, but I was curious why there would be different part numbers for different years of the same generation? Is the programming different for the various years, or is it strictly a matter of having the correct connecters for wire harnesses? The one I have is shown on the website as only for 2001, so there must be some difference.

red i think the difference is a couple of the connectors might need a special adapter to fit. i know my lil bro had the comp box and had to have a special peice to plug into his 2001. if you contact edge im sure they could set it straight.

Im pretty shure its the data link connector thats different. 98.5-00 its square or roundish and 01 its triangular or vise versa. But other than that it should be the same.

98.5-00 have the triangular data link, 01-02 have the 3-prong setup. I also think some of the sensors are different. Different outputs for a given reading, which would be mess the boxes if on the wrong year, one would think.

Yep, a 98.5-00 box won't work on a 01-02 or vise versa. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there are totally different programs.

Thanks for the replies. I found the answer this morning as I looked at the module and manual. The Juice module has a sticker that says 98.5-2001 on it. This leads me to believe the programming and electronics are the same for those years. Looking at the wiring diagram in the manual, it appears the only difference between the years is the map sensor and data link connectors.

I need to either exchange the harness or make adaptors to make this unit work. Don't think I'll be tapping the IP because I suspect it isn't in the best shape and my tranny is stock.

Yeah they do come with two different adaptors. Forgot about that! Should work fine.
