Im alright i live 50 miles from St.louis dont feel like going all the way to Kansas so they can tell me what I already know. Yes it is hard to judge HP from driving around, but I myself have never heard of a 358HP DIESEL PICKUP running in the low 14's.

Srry! better clear up that its a 5spd quadcab with a DD clutch.

Kman.. I think you just need to find a shop that is a little more famailar with diesels... or just the dyno in general...
If you go back to what Doug said, about load.. in 3rd gear you are not loading the truck enough to build full boost pressure.. especially on an accleration dyno.. (does the higher the pressure mean more power.. no not always.. ) .. it doesn't take long to get through 3rd with a light loading dyno..
Probably why your bothers truck with a smaller turbo made the numbers he did.. even thou you should have more Hp...

it's been said many times, you need to find a dyno operator that knows what they're doing. I dynoed at 260 rwhp and 668 lb-ft with just an EZ. Your numbers are 100 lb-ft lower and 100 rwhp more than those numbers with more aggresive mods.... something just doesn't add up. Definitely dyno in 4th or 5th gear as well. I believe 4th is 1:1 in the 5 spd.

Well depending if i work this weekend and if i go to monster jam, im going to a different dyno, found a guy that has been familiar with diesels and im going to go there, it is also a 4wd dyno so i dont know how thats going to work either. To get into the 14's it takes at least 400+. Also was your truck a 5spd, did you also have a DD, plus I also said that the car ran a 13.1 before, only raced once but there is a big difference between 13.1 and 13.7. When i mash the go pedal it takes about 3 seconds for the turbo to light up then it will throw back in your seat and in about, Oh 2-4 seconds at 65 your to 100, but i dont know, h-ll maybe i have one of the fastest low powered diesels out there, you never know, even when i mash on it in 5th she'll start to walk on me, in 4th ill break the tires loose for a while. All i know is when they tied me down they used 2 straps in back and 2 straps in the rear, i think i broke traction on the dyno but i guess the world will never know. If i dyno Sat i'll let everyone know, if not you will hear how i did at the drags and pulls this summer.

What brand and model dyno did you run on? What about the one this upcoming weekend? Comparing apples to apples is important...... Almost all dyno numbers you see here are from a dynojet, with some of the other brands there are several ways to change input data that alters the numbers with a dynojet it is pretty constant. Also if it was a mustang dual roller dyno tire slip can/is a BIG issue. Back in 92 the Thursday before Muncie I was cranking out over 750 RWHP on a dynojet. I went to Muncie and was dynoed on a mustang and with tireslip all I could muster was 600 RWHP.

A dyno is a great tuning tool but consistancy is the key. You need to use the same brand and model (if possible) when tuning. Another thing to look out for is running on the small dynojets, again the drum size/weight can be a big issue.

it was a dynojet dyno or that is what the sheet said but it had a dual roller dyno. I don't know I would have to say that the dyno cannot be right or it didn't load up the turbo enough to put that kind of horsepower down. I know when I dynoed my 2005 Dodge on this dyno I was unhappy as well. With the edge juice turned yo I put down 344Hp and then I turned the bullydog up to 130hp to run with the juice a managed a 357hp range. They also dynoed my 6spd in 4th gear which I didn't think was right in the first place. But the first time I went there they said that they were unable to hook up the settings for torque numbers becasue it took to loong but then my brother went in and they did torque numbers for him. It is obvious that they knew nothing about diesels, they argued with my brother saying that his clutch was grinding because his throw out bearing was out. My brother told them no he has a dual disc clutch and which they responded there is no such thing as a dual disc clutch. I think it is a mixture of the guys at the dyno not knowing anything plus being in the wrong gear. I think with the combo he has he should be at least in the upper 400 probably breaking 500hp and my 05 should have put down low 400's but we both didn't.

They also dynoed my 6spd in 4th gear
using 4th to dyno is a sure sign that the operator has no clue. Remember, 4th's ratio is 1.39 in an NV5600.

so if he dynoed my truck in 4th gear and it is a 6spd if he dynoed in 5th which is 1.1 I think what Hp would I of seen? Low 400?
