Unhappy WOW!!! dyno?

Went to the dyno this morning and your not going to believe these nembers.

317hp 540tq comp on 1by5
346hp 580tq comp on 5by5

Dont know what the deal is, my brother in his 05 dynoed in at 360hp i forget the tq but when we reaced the 1/4mile i beat him by like, i dont know but its alot. Could something be wrong with the dyno, im just surprized.

Gears, launch, driver, weight, aerodynamics... Lots of little things can have a big impact on 1/4 mile times.

Plus your NV4500 shifts quicker than his NV5600.

I also raced my brother's 76 plymouth duster 360 crate motor, 1/4mile is 13.2, 13.6, 13.7.

Did a 3rd gear launch from 20psi of boost, jumped 3 cars on him, shifted to 4th he pulled up to my door shifted to 5th he took a car lead on me, when we shut them down at somewhere between 100-110mph i was on his bumper. Now tell me how a 350hp diesel pickup keeps up with a (lets say 14 second) car.

definatly dyno error!!! A stock truck should dyno at 190. now saying your 280hp stick only give you 200, that puts you at 390, plus 110ish for the comp, now your pushing 500ish. That dyno isnt close, look at your torque values....a cummins very rarely is less than double the HP value!!!!!. Did you lose traction on the dyno?? that can make a huge difference, and sis you dyno in 4th?? (DIRECT)

I read the "NEW:" stuff in the signature as stuff waiting to be installed... With the injectors and turbo you should be pushing 500, if not over...

3rd Gens are just a different animal....bigger, heavier, taller, bigger front ends, lots more wind resistance, etc., it all adds up. We see it at the track every time……..a 2nd Gen 4X4 extended cab with stock wheels/tires and 500hp to the rear can squeeze 12.9's if tuned properly. A 3rd Gen 4X4 quad cab with stock wheels/tires and 500hp to the rear can generally only muster a 13.6 to 13.8.

So, yeah, your dyno numbers seem extremley low if that was done with the injectors and turbo listed as "new" in your signature. However, if that dyno is correct, I can see where you would still spank your brother on the street.

The "kid" running the dyno said that they very rarely do diesels, thay also said that there is no way my truck could of broke traction, when i argued with them they argued back saying dyno's are never wrong, i told them to jump in the truck and i'll take them for a ride, they declined, but they only dynoed it in 3rd gear, not 4th.

I would have to say that the kid running the dyno had no clue as to how you are suppose to set it up for a diesel. Did he try to connect to the spark plug wire for your rpms???

I called them and told them i wanted to re-dyno and try it in 4th and they said for a 5spd the best gear is 3rd, but they said they would dyno it again for another $75 so i told them to F-off!

There is the problem

Dyno error, your torque numbers are ridiculously low, as are your HP numbers for your BOMBs....
