would this work??
im no computer wiz but i was thinking{maybe a bad thing}if someone can totally alter the characteristics of the ecm to give the user many diferent options{smarty}why cant someone make a programmer that will give the same results as a comp or tst?if its the ecm that tells the vp what to do then why cant a signal be sent via the ecm to make the vp change its duration of fuel.isnt that what tapping the wire does, just lenthens the duration the fuel is sent in?sounds simple to me but like i said im no computer wiz.

You know I've been wondering the same thing for a while. If I'm correct though it's the computer inside the VP44 that alters all of that stuff. Not sure though. Maybe Marco or Bob can chime in and help us out on this one.

The ECM (any ECM from any vendor) can only ask the FPCM (little bug on VP44) for 100% juice - the Wire tap of the "major" boxes will circumvent the FPCM and simply apply juice to the solenoid out of it's own.
I think that part of the high perf VP44 stuff is only about different electronics, kind of installing a Comp into the FPCM software- this would explain why the gains with a wire tap box are rather small.
Just my 2c

That was a big 2c there Alpine
Dave- all the ecm can do is ask for 100%
I think Marco is getting us all an ECM has to offer. You need a box for a wire tap- electronics are needed and not present. Alpine gave a great response above.
