won't start when rain
here my problem...sometimes my truck won't star twhen it is raining. when i turn the ignition there is only a "click"--no battery--nothing!!
it has only happened 2 times. the first time the truck would not start, i waited until after the rain stopped, and then it started. i took it to the shop and they could not find the problem.
now, 5 months later the same thing happened.
1997 2500 turbo diesel with about 190,000 miles. thanks for any suggestions.

It sounds like you have a weak connection in your starting system. The moisture in the air from the rain is somehow causing the electrical system to not make ends meet, so to speak. It is impossible to fix during the dry as it starts fine. My first thought would be to start going through the system, cleaning and tightening all connections in the starting system, including your ignition switch. Or, if you like working in the rain, go through the system with a meter, looking for the break. These kinds of problems are tough.
