the woes of choosing a 66mm turbo

HTT
sled puller 66
pro street 66

II
ps66
sps66
Silver bullet

someone help me, whats the differences. which ones are spooling well for manual trucks? the SPS66 made 595 for mysterync, and bobcat698 swears by his pro street 66. im looking for something that is gonna be able to keep 550+ hp managable, and spool fairly well with mach 6's, TSTcomp, and smarty. My B1 is not a rocket to spool so if its no worse than the B1 I will be extremely happy!

too many choices

i literally made a list of pros and cons, twins would offer me better cooling, but the single is easier to work on and tune, and easier to go back to stock if i ever need to.

i gathered the info i needed and basically decided twins arent for me (not til this truck is no longer a daily driver anyway)

plus the sled pulling thing, id rather be able to pull in street classes, instead of the runwhatchabrung class

Yeah, I can understand that...but I'm hooked on twins I also won't sledpull...well, maybe once I know I'll get hooked if I do it too much!

I would think the SB66 would spool the best because of it's turbine wheel and housing "enhancements"

BUT, I've never ran any of the chargers you have listed! That B1 was the biggest thing I have ran to date...but a bigger one is laying here ready to go on when I get the parts together

Good Luck,
Chris

Why not spend the money on a H2 cam instead of yet another turbo? From what I've read most see 200 degrees cooler EGTs and better spool out of their turbo. Contact Timinva for a price quote or concider knocking the job out yourself and save some coin.

I think I'll go the cam route rather than going to a bigger single and possibly water.

You might also talk to the turbo shop of your choice and see if they can do some work to your B1...might same something over buying a whole new turbo!

cant have anymore downtime, and i have someone who wants to buy the B1 from me.

as for the cam...i don't want to tackle that job yet, its alot of work to pull the front of the truck apart...so i am waiting until next winter when i get another car and the truck becomes a weekend toy to get a H2 cam and springs. the turbo will get me the same results and takes only an hour to swap out. imagine the H2 with the larger turbo

I always thought the SB Spooled slower? I may be wrong, Id Like to Try it again, I've tried both! I did notice less surge and a little lower temps with the SB , I'd like to see some Data on the Spooling between all the large singles! That would be helpful to us all!

I just put the htt sled puller on. I know i have the auto but it was well worth it. It runs a little warm cruiseing around when goin up slight grades. Spool up is a little slow on light throttle but more throttle a second or two of smoke and its spooled. I have less smoke on daily driving than i did with the 35. Full throttle first gear sucks but second spins thrids spins then hooks and hold on from there man. It does like hirger rpms but man it sings. Its kinda to loud for me . You ll be happy with and of them from what everyone else says too.

I know a guy thats running a pro street 66 from Htt. He said its the best turbo he's ever owned. His truck is a daily driver. It is also a 5 speed. He was able to put down 625 on the dyno with it. Hes also got a stage 2 head from piers and a small cam from piers as well.

I know a 24 valve guy that has one of the HTT versions and he really likes it. On his dyno videos the smoke cleared with DDP 200's. He has a 6spd.
