Wiring Questions, Stock and Aftermarket LP??
Right now I have an Aeromotive pump as a stand alone with my vulcan big line kit. Kinda disappointed in its performance, 11psi @ idle and 7-8 @ WOT. I think it should be better but.....anyway. I gonna put the stocker back inline with it on the frame rail also. The two pumps will be mounted about 12" apart on the frame.
Here's my question, I used the stock LP wiring for the on/off switch in the Aeromotive relay. What do I need to do to re-wire the stocker back in. Can I just splice in the stock wiring for the on/off and wire another relay with the main power coming from the battery?
Thats all I can think of right now, any help is appreciated.

yes
you can use the wiring from the stock lift pump to trigger the relays for both pumps. The only problem that you may run into is too much fuel pressure on startup, this causes hard starts, extended cranking times etc.....
The most common remedy is to leave have one pump triggered by the factory wiring, and to wire the second pump trigger to get switched on and off by oil pressure that way you wont get pressure from the second pump until the engine is running.
There is a 3/8 opening on the top of the oil filter housing that you can put an oil switch into. Hope that helps, and makes sense

I have never heard of the oil pressure switch. What do I need. An oil pressure sender, sending its signal to the relay to the second pump?
Please tell me more
TIA,
Jamie

yeah, im right in the middle of doing this myself. I added a pro-comp pump and right now my fuel pressure is 27psi....
here is what I was told to ask for at the parts store "I would go out to a parts store and ask of a oil pressure sender that comes ON at 5-10 PSI... And hook it up on the oil filter housing... Then wire your power through it... To your pump..." that was posted by mopar1973 man
