Wiring fp gauge
I was going to wire my fp gauge to the ashtray light. I see two wires: 1)orange 2) black w/ yellow stripe. Which one is the hot wire?

I wired mine into my light switch. I put it on the dimmer wire circuit so when I dim the lights the gauges dim. I'm running the LED gauges though and it is ok. I was worried about overloading the circuit but figured the LED's will not draw that much amperage. Regular lights on the other hand will pull more of a load.
You could just use a test light and connect the one end to ground and find out which ashtray wire is hot. Not to sure of how it will work, what I mean is if when the ashtray opens it closes a ground to turn the light on or what. Use a small jumper wire and close the ashtray, hook up your test light and see if you have B+.

Ditto, on the switch. You have to pull the dash trim piece off, it will pop off, although I was afraid I'd break mine, take your time. The switch comes off with 3 screws, then check wires with the test light. On my 2002 I think it was the white wire, switched dimmer. Running FP and pyro lights with no problem. Also find Isspro's with green jackets on bulbs are not overly bright.
