Wire piercing
This is probably a dumb question, but here goes anyway. I am just wandering if it is possable to find an end to the pump wire, and sodier, wire clip, or loosen a nut, and put a wire in with existing pump wire end that goes to pump somewhere any way. I am not familure with the procedure at all, but will some time get the bug, and will still want to hide it from a dealer if I can. Is this possible, or is the end of the wire too far covered?

I'm sure if there was a way, it would have been found by now.

So far, the best way, and most undetectable, is the Blue Chip Pump Cover, as it doesn't pierce a wire, but contacts the point on the circuit board where the wire connects.

Dodge, Cummins, and Bosch are well aware of it, and have released a TSB informing Dealers what to look for in its installation as well as the piercing.

phox

It is a wire coming out of the injection pump for 3-4 inches and goes right back in, no connectors or anything, just a 2 conductor wire. I dunno why it's even out there, unless Cummins WANTED us to find it. ;D

Chris

Re:Wire piercing
ive got the blue chip pump cover, im guessing the only tell-tale sign is probably revealed in the torx heads that screw into the pump...if your really worried about the dealer finding out your wire was pierced, get an EZ....i replaced my pump last week myself ($1200)..a dodge tech told me they also inspect the brown tracer wire in the wire loom going to the pump..i looked at mine and it was obvious i spliced into it..i wanted to play so i had to pay!
