Winterfronts

I have been in need of a decent winterfront , and i hate the look of those black fabric ones , and a set of SS cloudriders was out of the question at 170$ , so i bummed a piece of alum diamond plate from a truck driving buddy of mine, had the sheetmetal shop shear it to the width/length i wanted , then trimmed the corners down with a hacksaw/file/grinder/emerycloth , for a better fit. I screwed up the top right insert , i made the left one first , set it ontop of the second one , and traced it out , duh , it should have been a mirror image, not identicle , so i had to trim both ends of it , so there is a big space towards the middle on the top.

I have the material to make inserts for the fog light holes , but i did not have time to make them , or figure out how to get them in there.

I used 1/4x1.25 carriage bolts , and wing nuts to secure the inserts , so i can easily remove them on a warm day if needed.

That looks great. You just saved yourself some coin.

I'd like mine in blue please.

The only thing i have yet to do , is polish them, they look terrable.

I Priced NEW diamond plate while i was at the shop getting mine sheared , and they will sell me scraps (and i saw lots of suitable scraps) for 3.50/lb (i think that's what he said) or by the square foot, and i don't remember what the price was on the sq/ft. But for the price of a set of SS cloudriders , you can buy enough diamond plate to make 2 or 3 sets i figure , use one for yourself , and sell the other 2 sets to cover all your costs , and have a free set for yourself.
