Winter fronts - template

I done some searching around and can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Does any have or know where I can get a template for winter fronts for my '01. If I have to, I'll stand out in the cold and attempt to trace out my grill openings to develope my own, but it sure would be nice if the templates are sitting around on the web somewhere.

I would trace a template of my inserts and send them to you but am not sure if my '95 is the same as your '01

Infidel- can you trace them and email them to me? I don't really want to fork out 50 bucks for some if I can make them myself.

I'm not sure of the differenence either, but mine is also a Sport. I noticed in the Lund catalog that the '99-'01 Sports have a different part number than the others of the same body style.

Matt, I'd be glad to but you'll have to teach me how to email something like that.
Think you're going to have to PM me your mailing address.

guy here in Salt Lake City does them for 25 bucks...shipped! That's worth my time of having to do all that myself. I have to get a heater for my shop...it's shut down till spring!

I've been using those $25 winter fronts for 3 years, they work great.
BTW the Sport grille openings are different from the "regular" grille.

Matt,

I just bought and installed the Lund winter fronts on my truck yesterday. We can make a pattern off of mine next weekend if you want.

I have had both the Lund fronts and the ones sold by the gentleman on the TDR. Personally I think the Lunds are much nicer. IMO they look nicer and fit better and are worth a few extra bucks.

Froze my butt off this night after work making some templates out of a manilla file folder. They're pretty good, but a little rough. I traced them onto a sheet of distressed aluminum I had laying around and whipped them out with the air shears. I cut them so they would be about 1/16" or so smaller than the opening so they would contact the grille frame and rub the paint off. They're a little rough, but they'll serve their purpose.... besides you won't be able to tell unless you get within a foot or so of the grille. Painted them satin black. The paint is still wet right now... I'll get a pic when they dry. I'll work on mounting them up tomorrow. For now, I'm going to leave the bumper openings unblocked to allow some air to pass.

Thanks for the offer, but I have the Sport package and I've been told that the Sport grille openings are different than the SLT grille openings.

You might think this is a little crude, but my friend uses duct tape to cover his grille in the winter. Serves the same purpose but may not be as neat.

That is however one way you can make a template. Duct tape up the openings, cut to the shape of the opening, peel off and trace on your material, cut them out and install. Just a thought.
