Window Tint

Window Tint
How do you guys feel about tinting the front windows to match the back on our trucks? Yes or No. Also what percent tint is the factory rear door on a 2001 quad cab, If I do this I want a direct match. Are all tints created equal or are their good brands and not so good brands? How much should this cost including installation? My truck is Jet black if that helps in the yay/nay decision.
Thanks for the info/ opinions!

i say go for it! i had it on my last truck, and one of the first things i did to this one....mine is black also....it looks great! 25% is what you would want to match good...there are good and bad brands, i have been told by my tint guy...as far as what brands are good, i cant help you there...but if u use a well known place around your area they should provide a warrenty...im not sure where your at, but the going prices around here in missouri is about 40-60 for the 2 sides.... hope all this helps..

If you are not sure if you will like it or not you can go the cheap route and and buy precut tint and put it on yourself. I bought precut tint off ebay for the front two windows 15 bucks shipped to the house. I didn't know how dark i would like it. The other thing for me is the cops up here have had a real problem with tint lately they have been nailing eveyone some cases 130 dollar ticket and others have had to rip it off on the side of the road. So i figgered for 15 bucks i would give it a try. Up here a professial install for 2 windows is about 70 bucks for the good tint.

Mine was done when i bought it, all windows match, the truck is metallic blue top, silver botom paint, and it looks sweet with the tint. only issue i have is at night, can't see squat, especially with the poor backup lights, but thats a mod in the future. I would tint my next truck, even though in pa, the law is 10%, anything past that is a 150.00 fine.

You mean tint like this????
Mine was done with Solar Guard about 5 years ago and its about the toughest tint going. You may have a tought time finding tint shops for autos using it because its tough to work with as it has teflon in it.Its made for commercial use, tinting home and business windows, and really keeps the interior heat down.Mine are done with 20% and are about as close to factory as was available when I had them done. Here in PA they are legal for state inspection but illegal with the officers UV meter,go figure.I had not had any problem with them to this day, either law wise or scratch wise and they are as nice as the day they were installed..........Andy

I had all the old, purple tint stripped off of my 97 regular cab
I went back with 5% put on the doors and back glass AND put 35% tint on the ENTIRE windshield with a 5% "sunstrip" on the top. I like it, alot
