Will 37's fit?

I have a 98 2500. I am looking for a new wheel tire combo. I was thinking a 3in susp lift, 18x9.5 Eagle 102 wheels, and 37x13.5x18 Nitto Mud Grapplers. Do you think 37's will clear with a 3 in lift? I don't have a problem chopping the fenders off. Has anyone done this? Let's see some pics. Thanks

You're gonna have to do some serious hacking.....I can still rub at full lock/compressed with 6" of lift.

I would definetely think about going with some 35's instead. 37's are way to dang big for only 3". Like Cowhand said, to fit those you are going to have to do some major body work with a hammer and a sawzall.

it depends on the wheel offset. i run 37s with 4.5" lift and have NEVER rubbed. I don't off-road too hard, and my Weld wheels are 17x8 with 4.625" backspace (real close to a zero offset according to Weld). I am planning 37/1250/18 next, and i will go with an 18x9.5 wheel with at least 5" backspace. I'll add a couple pics to my gallery when i get home tonight.

if you dont flex alot off roading then yes...there was a thread here about a guy who ran 38.5's or 39.5's with nothing but a 2" lift and alot of cutting on the fenders etc.

35"s are the point of diminishing returns.

Besides, what does a 37 do that a 35 can't, other than cost more and make your truck setup a lot more complicated?

35s are what I would do for sure.

I ran 35's and 37's with a 6", the 37's would just bairly rub at times the 35's had no problems.

i have a 5" with 35's. i think with cutting you could do it. but if you go with 37's you are going to want to think about new gears. i have 3.55's in mine, that's why i didn't go 37's. it would make my truck get behind the power curve as far as fuel mileage, right now i'm at about 1800 rpm going 70. but if you don't care about that then go for it.

I run 35's with no lift...yes they scrub on the lower control arms at full lock. Not bad though. and I would much rather see tires stuffed than a truck with a lift and puny tires..

that's why the 37s are nearly perfect to me. they fit the truck just right and don't look like 44" tonka tires. stock truck looks like a roller skate with 265s, 10" wheels with minimal backspace look like a skateboard with rock dings everywhere...
hey, IT'S JUST MY OPINION!!
no one said it had to make sense to anyone else!
I have 3.54 gears and 37s, tow heavy in 5th gear 60mph = 2000rpm. i even get 434hp/1006lbs torque with this combo! I will probably go to 4.10 and 35s in my next go-round, but only because i want to upgrade to a bigger 5th wheel toy hauler.

ok, check my gallery. once the photo gets approved it'll be there...DOH!
