They'll fit but will rub at full lock. You can live with it like that, buy new rims, or try spacers.

I ended up getting rims myself. But I have heard of people using spacers.

I ran 305's and I couldn't get them to rub if I wanted to. 315's, they rub.

How wide are your rims. I thought 95 rims were only like 6.5" wide. If this is the case don't even try mounting these tires on them. a 305/70/16 is about 12" wide. Your going to have to get at least an 8" wide rim, or find some 01+ rims. They're a little over 7.5" wide and have worked for several people. I mounted 315/75/16 which is the same with as 305/70 on my stock 01 rims and thought the rims were still to narrow so I bought wider rims.

I always thought that the rim was part of the wheel. Sorry, but it bothers me when people do not call wheels what they are, wheels.

I think of it this way:

Tire=the vulcanized rubber doughnut that contacts the road.
Motorcycles have 2, most vehicles have 4, some bigger ones have 6-10

Rim=the metal thing the tire is mounted on.

Wheel= the rim with the tire mounted on it.

Wheels=the entire vehicle with rims and tires.

Hot Wheels=little diecast replicas of vehicles.

i'm with Phox, the wheel is the whole thing. air leaves the tire and your on the rim.

I've got 285/75-16's on my stock 6.5" steel wheels with no trobles or rubbing, they fit perfect.

I think 305's my be a bit wide for 6.5's as they are a full inch wider than my 285's

Websters defines wheel as:
A solid disk or a rigid circular ring connected by spokes to a hub, designed to turn around an axle passed through the center.

Rim is defined as:
The circular outer part of a wheel, furthest from the axle.
A circular metal structure around which a wheel tire is fitted.
