Yeah Howdy!

For towing I am concerned only about maximum sustainable Hp. EGT is the first limit I hit, the next is coolant temperature. Never been up against coolant temperature, but from talking with others it seems to be around 350-400 Hp steady state. Even though I don't ussually tow at those Hp levels, my truck has the potential to do so.

Sounds like you plan overfueling just a bit. In your shoes, I think that you could get by towing with the Comp turned off. But from experience have one eye on the road the other on the EGT gauge. Don't try to go too fast up grades and keep the rpm's up around 2200-2300 when doing so. Passing be careful, watch the EGT gauge if it goes over 1200F count to 15 and get out of the throttle.

Bob Wagnar also reported he towed is TT with the same set-up he made 401 Hp with. At the time IIRC he said 1100F max EGT, but no telling Bob's driving style or topography. Just keep presence of mind at all times when towing.

I dont understand how your seeing this seem's to me he want's to make around 400hp with a Hybrid, comp and something around Mach 2-2.5.Completly doable and be able to tow with just the sticks, and maybe on level 1. ????

I have towed a D4 on a gooseneck before, with my comp on 5, just to see if it would do it. I guess being on the interstate helped, but I had No issues doing that, & did it several times.I usually run my comp on 2 or 3 when towing. The idea is very doable & already being done. I dynoed my truck with some F1 1.5's , the Comp, & did 425 Rwhp. I do need more air though & less heat.

With my setup my comp on 3x4 or 3x5 Ive pulled 20-22k without getting to hot, around 1200 when I shift to the next gear when I get my RPMs back up to 2000 range it will drop to 800-900. If you run the comp on the lower settings it should be fine. We dont have huge hills but its not flat around here either, as long as I keep the RPMs up mine doesn't run to hot.

Just today, 95* outside, 5000' elevation, I turned my Juice off and did a 0-80 wot run and my egt's maxed at 1215* at the 4-5 shift. Turned the Juice on to level 1x1 and did a 50-95 mph run and hit 1515*. I think that the saving grace on a manual is the let up time between shifts to cool things a bit. On my 50-95 mph run i was in fifth gear so no shifting. But I still think that you will be fine with a hybred turbo and any 100 HP injector for towing. It would be fine for a stock turbo with a blocked wastegate, so even better with a hybred turbo. But like previously said, if you want to race D-max's and P-Jokes up 7% grades, you will melt down with just a hybred. But if you let off a little on the hills, it will tow great. Just drive it like it's an older tired car, they slow down on the big grades too. My wife's montero sport 3.0 V-6 2wd slows down on some of the grades between UT and TX.

One time I raced a P-Joke up Mallad summit about 6% grade, both of us pulling 16' horse trailers mine around 6000 lbs. At the time I had stock injectors, no gauges, and a tapped edge comp. I was on level 2x4 and when I reached the summit three lengths "truck and trailer lengths that is" ahead of him, I noticed that my coolant was just touching the red, so I backed out of it and coasted down the backside for 1/2 mile or so till I cooled off. My point is that any truck floored up a big pass at high elevation will get too hot if you are pushing more than stock HP levels. Truck is designed to haul at stock levels so any increase in power takes some degree of intelligence to haul with. Go ahead you will be just fine!
