WIll I need a turbo upgrade?

I plan on installing a multi- level TST box with remote. Will my stock turbo provide a sufficient volume of air at high levels?

Yes.
But, if you want to go bigger injectors in the future, I suggest a bigger turbine housing with your HX35.

If you want even safer EGT's, you will need a bigger turbo.

--Justin

Check your temps after install, and if you see them too hot, toss the stocker airbox and find yourself a good air system. That should bring you on down into safe temps. If you step over to bigger injectors, then you'll definitely find yourself looking at new turbos.

Rod

jrs,
With your auto you should have the HY35, not the HX35. I went the same way as you, started with 275's and EZ and then changed to BD2's and comp. Now I have a HX35/14 cm housing. The HY 35 is more than sufficient for what you are planning to do, actually I think the HY spooled up quicker than the HX does. The reason I changed over was not performance but EGT's. With the HY's 9cm housing it was easy to push over 1300 after 4-5 seconds of hard throttle(comp on 3). Now with the HX/14cm the EGT's are more under control. One thing you may want to look at is Bill Heath's (Turbomaster) boost controllers. With your box you can adjust boost levels to about 34#'s which is real sweet.
Be carefull of the bug bomb though you might end up going the route I did and end up with the HX/14 anyway.
Tim
check this out on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742

You're over the power point where the HY35 is running efficiently, however an air system of some sort, along with either the TurboMaster or a turnbuckle/J-hook to hold the wastegate shut should keep your EGTs in check without requiring the swap to an HX35 turbo.

Rod

Re:WIll I need a turbo upgrade?

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go with the turbomaster to begin with and if things get too hot look to a turbo upgrade. Easier on the funds. I'm trying to medicate the bug.
