Will I be happy?
Going to order a Goerend VB very soon hopefully. I have the transgo now, but I can still slip my converter a little in OD. This should have about 50-70PSI more at WOT than the transgo, and the shifts should be timed better right? Right now If I stomp it in 2nd at 10mph, it wont downgear. It just takes a minute to spool, and finally goes. Do you guys think it will now downgear when I do stuff like this? The transgo is worth the $, but it has some flaws. Like I said. It wont hardly ever downgear(even if it needs to), not enough line pressure for me, and it doesent really hold the shifts out long enough at WOT to suit me. Pulling into my road, I am in overdrive, and slow down to about 15mph to make the turn. It holds 3rd gear every time unless i get into it at least 3/4 throttle. I hope this will be fixed to where it downgears to 2nd, and maybe 1st if i gouge on it. I am also getting lockup in any forward gear when I order Dave's VB. So guys; will I be happy with it, and will my converter hold the power now? I think it will make a big difference in shift quality, shift timing, and the holding power of my converter. I will give a full report after i get it in. Im excited to get it

You will most definately notice the difference. Hell, I'm running the stock converter with DTT's VB and I noticed a big difference in holding power. I'm putting 400 (ok 398, cut me some slack ) to the wheels and in lock up I have absolutely zero slip. Out of lock up is a different story

I think you were the one who motivated me to get a VB the most Blue. Putting 400hp through a stock tranny with a VB and no converter slippage is amazing I would be VERY happy if mine would hold 400hp with a VB since I probably wont be around 400 for a pretty good while. Maybe 325 or so, but not 400. I think my transmission would be plenty good enough to suit me for a while then. i thought about going with a DTT VB, but i decided it would be best to stay with the same manufacturer for all my tranny stuff so that I dont mix, and match; plus Im sure Daves VB is just fine; since he knows his stuff. I am looking forward to converter lockup in 1st gear too I hope to order it some time this week, and get it in very soon after it gets here. Then I plan on some 181 D.V.'s, and maybe the 215 injectors I have in the shop. Im excited.

Very Wise IMO to do all with one rebuilder!
Why 1st gear lockup??

You'll be very happy with the way it shifts. I switch from a Transgo to a DTT and all I can say is WOW. Nice to finally have a truck that downshifts to 1st without having to go to a complete stop. DTT's goes to 1st at 17mph - I'm sure Dave's is similar. Will you still slip when towing? Depends on the converter.
