Will the Edge EZ trash my tranny??

Will the Edge EZ trash my tranny??
I will be ordering my new Isspro gauges, AFE intake and aluminized 4" exhaust some time next week. I may have some extra funds to order a Edge box. My question is, if I get the box will it trash my tranny? I won't tap the wire until the tranny is rebuilt by ATS but my problem is that sometimes the tranny slips out of gear 1st to 2nd. I have already completed a tranny band adjusted about 6,000 miles ago. The tranny does not slip all the time but it raises a little concern to me.
Another question is if I do this completed setup what kind of hp, torque, and mileage will I get in the real world?
Or should I just get the gauges and start a new tranny fund?
Really need a little advice.

With the Edge EZ, there is no wire tapping. It will not hurt a stock tranny that is in decent condition. Since there isn't much price difference, and if you are going to want more power later (you KNOW you will), you should consider getting an Edge Comp, which is the one you can run as an EZ if you don't tap the wire. You will have the necessary box then, and can tap the wire later, after you get your tranny work done.
Your fuel milage will likely go up a mile or 2, but you may not see it because you can't keep your foot out of it. I never see it unless I'm on a long trip.
If there is a choice between gauges and a box, go for at LEAST the fuel pressure gauge. This is a known issue with second-gen, 24v trucks.

If you're already seeing Tranny problems, then the comp in EZ mode will hurt it.
I'd go for option 2 till you get the tranny "aftermarketized".
A good strong stock tranny will usually handle the EZ mode no problem.

IMHO if your trannys hurtin now any extra power will destroy it faster.
I would do the tranny first, you will be pleasently suprized at the seat of the pants feel from a tight new TC and worked tranny, plus you wont have to worry about holding the extra power when you add it later. Also the EZ dosnt tap the wire its just a plug in. Once your trannys done then go with the Comp and

Get the tranny right first. If it won't go then nothing else matters. Get it checked out. It may be a minor problem and you can get the stock tranny working properly again, then proceed with the bombing.

Depends on how much HP you are gonna have, and if you are gonna shift with the TC locked. The stage IV is supposed to handle 400 hp, if you don't shift with the TC locked. I've been there, at less than 400hp, but shifting locked, and broke TWO input shafts. ATS won't warranty the shafts if they aren't hardened. I do not know about their warranty on the hardened shafts.

I heard South Bend is starting a Cryogenic service you could have your stock input and output shaft cryo treated just and alternative to expensive Billet shafts. Not as strong as Billet but much stronger than stock talk to peter at Southbend clutch

Dodge2000:
I agree with the others if your tranny is hurting now not a good idea to add to its problems.
ATS is having their annual Summit Event this weekend at their shop. The last few years they have had one and there have been over 200 trucks there. They put on some tranny seminars as well as other vendors getting to put on talks. They also provide lunch and they raffle prizes like valve bodies, controllers etc. It is this saturday 9am-3pm or so at their new shop on Ward Road up in Denver. I also think that on Sunday they are hosting a dyno event. Bunch of guys going from the Springs in a convoy. I think they are meeting at the chapel hills mall saturday around 7-730am. Might be a good idea to go and get lots of info if you can. Clint does a great job presenting tranny info (as well as the rest of their crew) and performance mod info.
