Question will this bomb work?

I know a question like this has been asked more times then we can count, But here we go again!

Does anyone out there have an opinon on these bombs?

191 DVs
4000 GSK
HD VALVE SPRINGS
SCOTTY II
HTB2 62mm
ATS 3 piece manifold
INTERCOOLER BOOTS

If anyone can reconnmend any changes it would be a great help.
I'm trying to keep from buying a new pump at this time.

I talked to HTT the other day, ordered a HTB2, which I should get some time in the middle of sept, I also told them I would make 2 down pipes 1 for my truck and 1 that I will send back to them so they can have the down pipe made for a 12v to sell to people who dont have the time or equipment to make a downpipe themselfs.

If anyone out there has any info on where to get the 45*,60* and straight pipes needed to fab up a downpipe please let me know. I think together we can solve this downpipe problem.

Might think about doing a #10 plate instead of the #4..Power comes on real smooth..Other than that...it should run real nice..

I was always advised to skip the 4K springs on an auto and just run 3k...

A quick glance at the title to this thread may make the FBI take a look.

Eskimo Do you think it would still be worth putting on the HD springs for the small price they would cost me? It might save me work in the future.

Thanks!

Masonic:

I have (and many others) run the 3000gsk with stock springs for a long time with no problems at all.

I have said it many times before and I will say it here too: The 191 DV's work extremely well on the 160hp pump - enormous bottom and midrange torque gains. The only thing stopping me from running a #10 plate with my 190 DV's is that I will likely fry my BD converter - or the lockup clutch at least.

IMO, there is no need to swap pumps unless you are looking for 500+hp. There are many people here in the 400+ range using the 160 pump.

With your proposed mods you will be around the 400hp range anyway. Don't forget that when you are cranking out around 400hp you are making 900+ ft/lbs of torque!

Get ready for your new tranny!

Most big truck exhaust shops should be able to supply you with the 45 and 60 degree elbows you require.

Hope this helps.

CTD NUT thanks for the help.

I forgot to add Injectors to my list .

370's or EDM 370's or maybe something else?

Yeah, they will save you time if you ever plan on an exhaust brake...

The "reason" I was given for the 3k vs. 4k with an auto is that the auto will not let the engine rev out far enough before shifting? No personal experience, I'm going with a 3k GSK for my truck.

I'd second the recommendations on the 10 plate vs #4.

I'd also second the 3K not 4K GSK. The 4Ks are not necessary and harder on the pump.

Might as well do the springs when you have it apart.

The 370s are a pretty large injector, but if you want a custom set a wee bit bigger or in between the Bosch 300s and 370s, just contact Don M and have him whip up a set of SWEET EDMs for you.
